I got back from Fanime a few days ago... I was going to make a journal about it right when I got back but I was tired. And then I got disctracted playing video games and laying around. OTL
So I got there on Friday. That's apparently the least crowded day. My sister was there with me, as well. So we basically just ended up walking around aimlessly for the first day... I'm so terrible at schedules, I couldn't find any panels I wanted to go to or anything. And then I flat out lost my schedule book thing. We ended up just sitting around by the entrance and watching the people come in. XD;
The next day my sister and I sat in one of the video rooms for four (or more) hours watching whatever they played. Here's a list of all the stuff we watched in the first two days:
-Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi (so wonderful omg, I worship Gainax even more now)
-The last half hour or so of a Detective Conan movie
-Keroro Gunso movie
-Kappa no Coo to Natsuyasumi
-Detroit Metal City (LOL)
-and like two episodes of death note
It turns out that sitting and watching anime at a convention is fine with me. I never get to watch anime at home because I always feel like I should be doing something productive, but at the con I couldn't find anything ELSE to do.
In the end, there were too many people. I hate crowds lol. Which is why the video rooms appealed to me. In the future if I go again, I would either jsut go for one day or get a table in the artist's alley, so I could just stay in one place and not have to worry about finding stuff to do....
I saw some good cosplays too. Most of them I was too shy to ask for a picture though. *FAIL* Like... there was this really pretty Lelouch and... oh I don't even want to talk about it
Here's some pictures:
I saw a lot of Rin and Len, but they were the best.
When asked to get her picture, she brushed out her wig first to make sure it looked nice. TOO CUTE GAH.
These two got Asuka and Rei's personalities exactly right...
That lance of longinus was all plushy by the way lol.
This guy was awesome! Somehow none of that paper fell of the entire day. He gave me a hug too lol.
Lol James. He looks all enlightened. He came with a friend dressed as Asuka in her plugsuit too, but the lighting ruined that photo...
Medecine seller! :D
Had to get at least one Bridget lol.
You wouldn't beleive how happy I was to find a Mytho! And a good costume at that. orz
This was just adorable lol.
My sister and I decided that if we were to ever cosplay, we'd try Ico and Yorda. And just walk around holding hands lol.
And of course there's the dealer's room! My parents ended up giving me money for stuff. Plus we shared our room so we ended up getting more money back from that.
I got a revoltech Rei to match my Asuka~
Omg, this was only $15. That's half as much as I paid for Asuka. It's probably the cheapest I'll ever see one of these. And I think I found this at the first booth I went to, even. Not five minutes had gone buy and I was already buying stuff. OTL
I saw a few Miku ones too, but they were all $30 or more. SOMEDAY....
Actually, there was an Asakura revoltech (the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya) in the girl's school uniform, but it came with an extra Taniguchi head. I WAS SO CONFUSED LOL.
Anyway, when I got back to the hotel room I had fun posing it weirdly, as you can see...
I knew I would have to get a Pokemon something, and I saw this and was like FATE! YES
I have a love/hate relationship with Pachirisu. It's really srs.
An Itsuki to match my sister's Kyon! And he's holding a little Shinjin. So adorable lol. I never find any Itsuki anything.
A purple pikmin for me, and a white one for my sister :D
It's a Left 4 Dead shirt parodying those Barack Obama campaign posters. And Louis is my favorite lol.
I MISS YOU TRIGUN
This poster looks so awesome on my door. It replaced an old poster of a kitten that I got when I was in elementary school (I think).
Sorry, Kitten.... you were cute, but... you can never be Vash.
But I think the best thing of all is that I was RECOGNIZED. Just for wearing an orange hoodie. It made me feel all special. She was really nice too, I was annoyed at myself for being so awkward XD;; I got the feeling she was nervous, which just made me more nervous because I don't want to be the type of artist who is all "bwahaha I have fans" and intimidating and stuff. I don't want to be the subject of envy, I want to be a positive inspiration. To me, just knowing that somebody likes my art enough to go looking for me at a con makes me feel humbled. I have to work hard and reach my goals, not just for me but for anyone else who might be watching...
So yeah. That's that. >w> Maybe next year I can meet more people! I'm gonna try and get a table in the artist's alley, and see how that goes.
